Beyond Love: Building Bonds With Your Dog

Often my wife and I start the day with a big love-fest on our bed. When our pups hear the alarm buzzer or our waking voices, that’s their cue to get up from their own beds, enjoy a delicious downward-dog stretch and make their way up onto our bed with us.
We know how important it is to for our dogs to go for a daily walk, so what do we do when the rain is coming down too hard to make that walk pleasant? Some dogs may be deterred by just a drizzle but sometimes it’s just not enjoyable for us even if our dogs don’t mind getting wet.
Those of us who have strong bonds with our dogs have undoubtedly experienced the myriad of ways in which they contribute to our well-being.
This is the question we have begun to ask ourselves as we get to know more and more people and their dogs in the U.S. after running a dog training and boarding business in Mexico for many years.
